I am attending college for a second time in order to change careers. The first time around I got my Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, and a Master’s Degree in Taxation. I worked for one of the “big” accounting firms for 6 years, then at a smaller firm for a few years before deciding to move on.
I am now taking prerequisite courses at a local state university so I can apply to enter a Physicians’ Assistant program – I am hoping to matriculate in 2010.
Physicians’ Assistant programs require patient contact experience prior to the start on the program. I work as a medical technician in a local emergency room to gain patient care experience.
I am really interested in infectious diseases and working with the microbes that cause these diseases. If the whole PA thing doesn’t work out, I’d probably want to pursue a career working in that area.
