Grammar For The Insane, Episode 1

I saw this phrase on the side of my cup from McDonald’s the other day:

“How are we doin’?”

It seems the marketing department at McDonald’s wants to project some sort of hip, urban image. However, it seems that those prep-school boys have not done their research thoroughly. Everyone knows it should be:

“How we doin’?”

Grrrrr. . .I have a deep and abiding hatred of improper grammar. But the most hated phrase of all by far, the one that sets my teeth on edge:

“Where you at!?” or “Where are you at!?”

It’s “Where are you?” And that is all. Believe it or not, this is a grammatically correct sentence all by itself. In case you were wondering.
