Plus Phildar!

Oui, j’ai commande plus catalogues de Phildar encore!  Cette fois, j’ai achete trois catalogues: un nouveau catalogue, et deux vieux catalogues.

For non-French speaking people (and those that may want to critique my French grammar):  Yes, I’ve ordered from Phildar again!  I bought three magazines:  one of the new ones I wanted right away, and two older ones that were only 1.49 Euro each.

I will write about the oldest one first and work my way up to the newer magazine, which has projects in it that I love.  I want to note right now that the pictures that appear in this post are taken from Phildar’s website, they are not my pictures.

Here is the oldest magazine of the bunch:

Phildar Tendances Hiver 07/08

Phildar Tendances Hiver 07/08

I’m not sure why I didn’t buy this earlier, though I know that at the time this was released I had so many other things I wanted to knit (mainly from Interweave Knits) that it seemed impractical to buy this magazine at any price.  And the US dollar to Euro exchange rate at the time was abyssmal if I remember correctly, making it seem like even less of a deal.  But at the current price of 1.49 Euro, I can handle that!

Here is the first sweater to catch my attention in this issue:

No 7a - Gilet Court - Partner

No 7a - Gilet Court - Partner

The body would need to be lengthened, of course.  How, I don’t know.  I might never make this sweater, but I know that I like it!  Next:

No 10a Phildar Cape - Partner

No 10a Phildar Cape - Partner

I like the swing in the cape.  I wouldn’t wear this right now, but perhaps in the future I would wear it.  Also, one I didn’t like just by seeing online, I liked it much better when I had the magazine in hand.

No 13a Gilet - Partner

No 13a Gilet - Partner

I always liked this cardigan, it’s just so cute!  Simple with just enough detail.

No 16a Gilet Col Tailleur - Partner

No 16a Gilet Col Tailleur - Partner

Another cute cardigan!  I like simple details best!  I think I might taper the sleeves a little more than they appear in this picture, but overall I like the look of this cardigan.

No 18a Manteau a Capuche Nebuleuse

No 18a Manteau a Capuche Nebuleuse

I like this little jacket.  It didn’t really get my attention when I saw it online, but the photo in the magazine really made me look twice.  I’m not sure about the pockets, though.  I’d probably not put them on the finished garment.

No 24a Pull - Frimas

No 24a Pull - Frimas

I love this sweater!  I like the neckline!  I also kinda like the puffy sleeves, just enough pouffiness down by the cuff.

No 27a Pull Court Partner

No 27a Pull Court Partner

Another short sweater!  Yes, I would lengthen it!  But I love the pattern on the sleeves!  I might also make this a crew neck rather than the mock turtleneck seen in the photo.

No 30a Cache-coeur - Oxygene

No 30a Cache-coeur - Oxygene

I don’t know. . .maybe it’s the color?  Maybe the wrap style?  I almost bought this magazine when it was brand-spanking-new just because of this sweater.  I think I’d ditch the pink ribbon, though.  And I can’t stand how they styled this with the teal shell underneath.

So, that’s it for that magazine.  Two more to dissect in future posts!

Also, I read this in Wonkette this morning.  I wonder if there were any of the same reports around here last night, since we’re so close to Maryland and we also had some thunderstorms last  evening!  My dog was afraid of the lightning, too.
