6.9.09 – Tuesday Ten And A Little More

Today is a bad, bad, bad day.  I may post about what a bad day today is later this week, when I know more – but for now I really just can’t write about it.  It’s not a matter of perspective, it’s something that I’ll never change my mind about.

Here’s Tuesday Ten, to take my mind off of things. . .

  1. Walking On A Dream – Empire Of The Sun
  2. Ringfinger – Nine Inch Nails
  3. Youthless – Beck
  4. Wait – Get Set Go
  5. Someone That You’re With – Nickelback
  6. True Faith (’94) – New Order
  7. Live And Learn – The Cardigans
  8. Lips Like Sugar – Echo & The Bunnymen
  9. Hey Jealousy – Gin Blossoms
  10. Absolute Beginners – The Jam

Well, iTunes, you have quite a sense of humor.  A lot of these songs dance around the issue I am trying not to think about.

Anyhow, in my web travels this morning, I came across this article on msnbc:  U.S. Online Shoppers Hit With “Foreign” Fee.  My bank did charge a fee the last time I placed my Phildar order, and it was a surprise since they’d never charged it before.  I don’t know if this will stop me from ordering from Phildar’s website, though it might be a factor.

I finished knitting the body of the Moderne Log Cabin Blanket yesterday!!!!  I am weaving in the last couple of ends.  Then I’ll need to start the border.  But it’s so close to the end of the project, I can’t wait to finish!

This past Sunday, I planted my zucchini and yellow crookneck squash plants.  I took a whole bunch of pictures of the flowers my mom planted plus my own plants.   Here are pictures of my squash plants:

It’s exciting, I know, they’re just little baby plants!  No blossoms or anything like that yet.  And here is a picture of my tomato plant, Juliet:

This was just before I surrounded the plant with a cage to support it.  It’s quite a bit bigger than it used to be!  And today I went outside and there was a little blossom on one of the branches – which I think I read that I should actually prune so the plant can focus on getting bigger, not growing fruit.  I also got a basil plant , because how can I have a tomato plant and not have a basil plant?

The tomato plant, until I put a trellis around it, sort of leaned over the basil plant.  I planted the basil and the tomato plant kind of close together because I knew I would stake the tomato plant, eventually.  They are about 10-12 inches apart in the ground.
