Life Is Not A Bowl Of Cherries

Dear In-town Grocery store:

There are many things I like about summer, it is my favorite season of the year.  One of the many things I love about summer is the bumper crop of cherries.  Every trip I make to the store, I buy some cherries, since we only have these few short months to enjoy this wonderful fruit.  I definitely eat my quota of cherries for the year in these summer months.

I was in the store this past Tuesday and bought some of the cherries you had on display.  Just two days ago!  The bag I bought was maybe two pounds.  I put them in the refrigerator when I got home, and took them out tonight and began washing them when I noticed that they were pretty slimy, and perhaps growing bacteria that could become an antibiotic cure for MRSA.  I must have thrown away three-quarters of the bag of cherries.  I am eating the rest of them tonight, as I type this post.  The remaining good cherries don’t even fill a cereal bowl.

Your produce is expensive and not even the best of all the stores in the area – and by area I mean suburban mainline Philadelphia.  Unfortunately for me I live in a town where your store and one other grocery chain store are the only game in town.  My two preferred chain grocery stores do not have locations where I live.  So I’m stuck with you for local jaunts to the store, since the other grocery store is even worse.

I’m just saying that, in-town chain grocery store, you are the suck.

Love,

Loungekitten
