1.4.11 – Tuesday Ten

It feels weird that it’s already 2011.  The last half of 2010 seemed to pass in a blur!

It’s hard not to be optimistic at the beginning of the year, there is something about it that makes me feel like I’m starting over, and that anything is possible.  I wish this year was one I was looking forward to with eagerness instead of trepidation.  I already know that this is going to be a “challenging” year for me.  In a few months, I am starting a program to earn a BSN, and that will last for about a year.  Basically, I am completing “the meat”  of a four-year nursing degree in about one year.  While I am very excited about taking this step, I know it is going to be a tough one academically, physically, and emotionally.

Plus there are a few other things I see happening right now that are sad to think about.  Maybe I’ll write more about that stuff later.

Music usually makes me happy!

  1. You Said Something – PJ Harvey
  2. Constant Craving – k.d. lang
  3. Maps – Yeah Yeah Yeahs
  4. Symphony No. 41 in C, K. 551 – “Jupiter”: I. Allegro vivace – Berliner Philharmoniker & Karl Bohm
  5. You Are Goodbye – Holly Conlan
  6. Universe & U (Acoustic Extravaganza Version) – KT Tunstall
  7. I Love New York – Madonna
  8. Violet Hill – Coldplay
  9. Piano Concerto No. 5 in E-flat major, Op. 73 – “Emperor”: II. Adagio un pocco mosso – Vladimir Ashkenazy & The Cleveland Orchestra
  10. Rio – Duran Duran

The closest thing I have to a resolution is that I would like to be more adventurous.  I’ve been stuck in a rut the past few years for a number of reasons.  Trying to get myself out of the rut will be hard considering all I’m facing this year.  It doesn’t have to be anything big, all the time.  Just small changes and new experiences would be welcome.

That’s a persimmon.  I’ve never had one before!  Isn’t the inside cool?  Is tastes sweet, sort of like honey or nectar.  I think it would be great to have with pineapple or with yogurt.
